FLOATING DUCKIES

This is a very fun baby shower game. It is played just like a ticket raffle. Winners are random.

Have a tub full of little rubber duckies floating in water (one per person attending the shower.) Number the bottom of each little ducky. When guests arrive have them draw from a bowl full of numbers that you have prepared. Throughout the shower (every 15-25 minutes or so) pull out a ducky and call out the number. The person with the matching number gets a prize.

1. Bible Families
   
   Guests have to match the bible baby to their parents
   
   Ex. Jesus to Mary and Joseph



2. Guess Who I am?
   
   Make a list of questions pertaining to the Sunday School bible stories and have guests guess who the person is!
   
   Ex. I was swallowed by a whale--Joseph



3. Remember the Worship Song
   
   Start off with a popular children's worship song and have guests sing the rest of the song.
   
   Ex. This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it ______________.



4. Building Blocks of Life
   
   Get a large stack of baby blocks, and have guests take turns at stacking them. Each time a guest stacks a block, have them tell what they believe is an important building block of life (i.e. having faith or a good sense of humor). If a guest fails to name something, their out. The winner is the last person to stack a block before the stack falls (not the guest who topples the stack).



5. Tell It On the Mountain
   
   This mountain being the center or the front of the room. Have each guest stand up and tell something good about themselves, or about the parents-to-be.

Mother's Wardrobe is a fun baby shower game to play. You will have a very nice time. This game is very inexpensive to prepare for.

Have a fashion show!

Preparation for this fun baby shower game idea: Before the shower, buy a 12 or 24 package of tissue rolls.

How to play this fun baby shower game: During the shower, divide the guests into teams of 3 or 4. Each team picks on team member to be "pregnant". The other team members will use the tissue paper to dress the "pregnant" team member in her own maternity clothes outfit. Have a fasion show at the end, and have each team explain why their maternity outfit is so unique, stylish, and bold! Have the fashion models walk into the room, give a few twirls, and exit just like a real fashion show. For fun, play some chic music to give the fashion show some more flair! The real Mommy-to-be picks the winner! If you are video taping the highlights of the baby shower, this game is a must to capture on film!

Variation: Another variation of this fun baby shower game idea is to not play in teams. Just have the entire group dress the real mommy-to-be in a stylish and daring or practical and unique maternity outfit with the tissue paper . Take pictures at the end!

Here are one of my fun baby shower games. You may try it if you wish. Here are the requirements and instructions listed below.

Required: Baby dolls, baby clothes, diapers, powder, small tub or dish pan, peanut butter, water and towel

Players: Small to Medium Groups

For this fun baby shower game, try to come up with life size baby dolls to play this game. Each team will have close to the same size baby and the same items to dress their baby. Items to dress the baby for each team might be booties, t-shirt, diapers, a bonnet or cap and one-piece outfit. To add some excitement you can even put a scoop of peanut butter in each diaper and make sure each team has several diapers for diaper changes. You could even throw in a few diapers with pea soup for an added surprise. To start the game, have the babies dressed and across the room on a table. The first person on each team will undress baby, if the baby had a bowel movement remove with a diaper wipe and place baby in the tub. They return to the team and the next person will dry off baby, power and diaper bottom, dress baby and pat once on bottom to ensure the BM (bowel movement) connects to baby. The next person will remove clothes; wipe bottom and place in tub. The first team to finish rotation will be the winners.

This game is a great youth group game, great game for a child development class and for a baby shower. Discuss the do’s and don’ts about taking care of a baby after this game. One of them is never leave a child alone in a tub and baby powder is not used by many parents because it’s not good for babies to inhale.

Who is that special "Super Mom"?

Preparation for this baby shower game idea: All you need is a cloth diaper, several safety pins, a blindfold, and a large doll or teddy bear. Make sure the cloth diaper fits on the doll or bear.

How to play this baby shower game: Blindfold each guest, one by one, and instruct them that they will be timed to see how long it takes them to put the diaper on the "baby", but they will also be judged on how well their baby's diaper looks after they are through. As each guest starts, time them with a stop watch and have someone write down the times to keep track. Have the expectant mother be the judge of who did the best and neatest diaper job, and the fastest time.
