MEMORIES
On the invitations ask each guest to bring one baby item from their past, either something they or their children wore or played with. Have each person tell the story behind the item. Have the guest vote on the best story to pick the winner. As a gift for the mother-to-be, give her a "Baby's First Year" memory book that she can use to record memories of her baby.

FUN BABY SHOWER GAME--BABY CARE RELAY
BABY CARE RELAY
Here are one of my fun baby shower games. You may try it if you wish. Here are the requirements and instructions listed below.
Required: Baby dolls, baby clothes, diapers, powder, small tub or dish pan, peanut butter, water and towel
Players: Small to Medium Groups
For this fun baby shower game, try to come up with life size baby dolls to play this game. Each team will have close to the same size baby and the same items to dress their baby. Items to dress the baby for each team might be booties, t-shirt, diapers, a bonnet or cap and one-piece outfit. To add some excitement you can even put a scoop of peanut butter in each diaper and make sure each team has several diapers for diaper changes. You could even throw in a few diapers with pea soup for an added surprise. To start the game, have the babies dressed and across the room on a table. The first person on each team will undress baby, if the baby had a bowel movement remove with a diaper wipe and place baby in the tub. They return to the team and the next person will dry off baby, power and diaper bottom, dress baby and pat once on bottom to ensure the BM (bowel movement) connects to baby. The next person will remove clothes; wipe bottom and place in tub. The first team to finish rotation will be the winners.
This game is a great youth group game, great game for a child development class and for a baby shower. Discuss the do’s and don’ts about taking care of a baby after this game. One of them is never leave a child alone in a tub and baby powder is not used by many parents because it’s not good for babies to inhale.

FUN BABY SHOWER GAME (DIAPER IN THE DARK)
DIAPERS IN THE DARK
Who is that special "Super Mom"?
Preparation for this baby shower game idea: All you need is a cloth diaper, several safety pins, a blindfold, and a large doll or teddy bear. Make sure the cloth diaper fits on the doll or bear.
How to play this baby shower game: Blindfold each guest, one by one, and instruct them that they will be timed to see how long it takes them to put the diaper on the "baby", but they will also be judged on how well their baby's diaper looks after they are through. As each guest starts, time them with a stop watch and have someone write down the times to keep track. Have the expectant mother be the judge of who did the best and neatest diaper job, and the fastest time.

BABY SHOWER HUMOR
To add some more laughter at the baby shower, here are some jokes to bring to the baby shower that will go over well. These jokes will give a great big smile at that shower.
Q: Am I more likely to get pregnant if my husband wears boxers or briefs ?
A: You'll have an even better chance if he doesn't wear anything at all
Q: What do you call a pregnancy that begins while using birth control ?
A: A misconception
Q: What is the easiest way to figure out exactly when I got pregnant ?
A: Have sex just once a year
Q: What is the most common pregnancy craving ?
A: For men to be the ones who get pregnant
Q: I'm two months pregnant now. When will my baby move ?
A: With any luck, right after he finishes college
Q: My breasts, rear end & even my feet have grown. Is there anything that gets smaller during pregnancy ?
A: Yes, your bladder
Q: My wife is 5 months pregnant and so moody that she's borderline irrational.
A: So what's your question ?
Q: What's the difference between a pregnant woman and a Playboy centerfold ?
A. Nothing, if the pregnant woman's husband knows what's good for him
Q: What position should the baby be in during the ninth month of pregnancy ?
A: Head down, pressing firmly on your bladder
Q: When is the best time to get an epidural ?
A: Right after you find out you're pregnant
Q: What is colic ?
A: A reminder for new parents to use birth control

GAMES FOR ABC'S & 123'S THEME

For the theme of ABC'S & 123'S, there are many themes that can be played at the shower.
BABY SHOWER ABC'S
Print out the baby shower game card shown above. Print one copy for each guest.
You can play this game individually or in teams of 2 or 3 people. Give each person (or team) a piece of paper and pen or pencil. Have them fill each line in with a baby related item (or pregnancy related item) that begins with that letter. Give everyone 6-8 minutes to fill out the card. Whichever person (or team) fills in the list most completely wins. Letters Q, X, Y, & Z can be very tricky. Tell the guest to be creative.
ABC NAME GAME
No preparation is needed for this game!
Begin with the expectant mother and have her say a baby name that begins with the letter "A". Then go to the next guest, who must say a baby name that begins with the letter "B". Continue around the room until you have gone through the whole alphabet, A - Z. If a guest cannot think of a name in 10 to 15 seconds, they are skipped and are out. If you make it to Z with more than one person still in the circle, then there are multiple winners or you can play another round, A through Z until there is only one person left in the game.
BABY 123'S (BABY SHOWER PRICE IS RIGHT)
Before the Shower, go to the store and purchase 10 - 12 small baby items. Be sure to keep the receipt, so you know how much each baby item costs.
Items could include:
- 1 Package of Diapers
- 1 Bottle of Baby Food
- 1 Package of 100 q-tips
- 1 Bottle of multivitamins
- 1 Bottle of Baby Powder
- 1 Pair of Baby Shoes
- 1 Onesie
- 1 Bottle
- 1 Pacifier
- 1 Elmo stuffed animal
- Any baby items that match your specific theme would be excellent items to have!
Then, make a list of the baby items on one side and a blank line on the other.
During the shower, give each guest a list and a pen. Show each item to the group and have them write down what they think it costs. Then have them add up their prices for all the items. The one closest to the actual total on your receipt (minus the tax) is the winner! Present the expectant mother with the baby items. She'll be needing them!

BABY NAME SCRAMBLE
In this game, you scramble the letters of relevant baby words and ask guest to identify the word as quickly as possible. Or maybe you can ask guests to pick both a girl and boy name for the baby and try to think of as many words as they can from the combination of the 2 names. If the baby's gender is known, have guests pick a first and middle name. Of course, the baby's last name will be the same as the parents'.
Don't tell the object of the game until after they have picked out the names. This way they will not try to intentionally pick out longer names. The only way to know the object of the game is if they have palyed this game before.
Now, after they have picked out the names. Create word finds or unscrambles from the names. Have the guests unscramble the names.
The person with the most word finds (unscrambles) wins.
